Tiny Humans. Extraordinary Care.

Newborn & Infant Chiropractic Care at Vitality Family Chiropractic

They might be the smallest patients in our office, but they require the most specialized care.

Those first weeks with a newborn are wonderful, exhausting, and occasionally overwhelming. You're getting to know this brand-new person while navigating feeding, sleeping, and approximately 400 opinions about how to do everything.

And sometimes, something just doesn't seem quite right.

Maybe feeding has been harder than you expected. Maybe your baby always turns their head to one side. Or maybe your little one seems uncomfortable, and you're trying to figure out why.

At Vitality, caring for newborns is one of our greatest joys. We combine advanced pediatric chiropractic training, specialized cranial techniques, and a gentle, individualized approach to caring for the tiniest members of your family.

Birth Is a Big Experience for Little Bodies.

Whether your baby arrived after a quick delivery, a marathon labor, or a cesarean, there's a lot of physical adaptation happening in those first days and weeks.

We begin by learning about your pregnancy and birth experience, then take a close look at how your baby moves and responds to gentle examination.

One of the things that makes our approach different is our focus on the relationship between the cranium, spine, and nervous system.

The brain and spinal cord are surrounded by protective membranes, including the dura mater. Through our specialized training in Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) and pediatric cranial adjusting, we assess spinal and cranial findings for patterns of tension, asymmetry, and restricted movement.

Rather than looking at one area in isolation, we're considering how your baby's head, spine, and surrounding structures work together.

It's a detailed approach for some very tiny patients.

Little Babies. Big Questions.

There are a few concerns we hear about almost every day.

Feeding Difficulties

Breastfeeding and bottle-feeding require a surprising amount of coordination. If your baby struggles with latching, prefers feeding on one side, or seems uncomfortable in certain positions, we'll assess their movement and musculoskeletal function, including cranial and spinal findings.

Our specialized cranial approach also includes gentle intraoral adjustments, when appropriate, to address cranial biomechanics and evaluate palate shape and function. This allows us to consider how the structures involved in feeding are moving and working together.

We also provide individualized bodywork before and after lip and tongue tie revisions, with attention to cranial and spinal mobility, tension patterns, and your baby's comfort. We coordinate with the provider performing the revision and your baby's feeding team, recognizing that bodywork is a complementary service rather than a required step for a successful revision.

Feeding is a team effort. We value close relationships with lactation consultants, feeding therapists, and revision providers so families have the right expertise and support throughout the process.

Torticollis & Head Shape Concerns

Does your baby have a favorite direction to look? Or have you noticed flattening on one side of their head?

We evaluate head and neck movement, cranial findings, and positioning preferences to better understand what you're seeing. When appropriate, we coordinate with pediatricians and pediatric physical therapists, particularly when a baby needs additional evaluation or treatment.

Fussiness & Tension

Some babies just seem to have a harder time getting comfortable. Maybe they arch frequently, resist certain positions, or seem unusually tense.

We listen to what you're noticing, review your baby's history, and evaluate movement and areas of tension. Because fussiness can have many causes, we also help families recognize when a medical evaluation may be needed.

Wait. You're Going to Adjust My Newborn?!

We know. It sounds a little surprising if you're picturing an adult chiropractic adjustment.

Infant care looks very different.

Our techniques use gentle, age-appropriate contact, often around the cranium, spine, or sacral region. There's no adult-style forceful adjusting, and we're always mindful of your baby's comfort.

Sometimes babies are happiest being assessed in Mom's arms. Sometimes they need a feeding break halfway through. And sometimes they have absolutely no interest in cooperating with our plans.

We work around them. They're the boss anyway.

Specialized Training. Very Gentle Hands.

Newborns aren't miniature adults, and caring for them requires an understanding of their unique anatomy and development.

Our advanced training in pediatric chiropractic, Sacro Occipital Technique, and infant cranial work guides the way we assess and care for babies.

From Your First Baby to Your Growing Family.

One of our favorite things about Vitality is watching families grow.

We've cared for moms throughout pregnancy, met their babies just days after birth, and watched those same little ones become toddlers racing through the office.

Whether you have a specific concern or simply want to learn more about our approach to infant care, we'd love to meet your family.
